Support Gordon Castle and The Walled Garden

The success of Gordon Castle is built on more than history and heritage; it’s shaped by the people who give their time and energy to support it. From lending a hand in the Walled Garden, to welcoming visitors at estate events, to helping bring the Highland Games to life, volunteers are at the heart of what we do. Whether you can spare a few hours or join us regularly, your support helps keep the estate flourishing for future generations.

Volunteering in the Walled Garden

The Walled Garden is the heart of Gordon Castle — a living, breathing space full of flowers, fruit, vegetables, and history. Our volunteers help with everything from planting and weeding to harvesting produce and welcoming visitors. No gardening experience is necessary, just enthusiasm and a willingness to get your hands in the soil. It’s a wonderful way to learn new skills, enjoy the outdoors, and become part of a community dedicated to keeping one of Britain’s oldest kitchen gardens thriving.

Volunteering at the Highland Games

The Gordon Castle Highland Games is one of Moray’s biggest family events, and it wouldn’t be possible without the dedication of our volunteers. From stewarding and set-up to helping with competitions and welcoming thousands of visitors, volunteers are at the heart of creating an unforgettable day. It’s a fantastic opportunity to get involved in a celebrated tradition, meet new people, and enjoy the buzz of the Games from behind the scenes.
